Class I hitches have the lowest Gross Trailer Weight (GTW) and Tongue Weight (TW) ratings of the hitch classes. Most are rated for 2,000 lbs. GTW and 200 lbs. TW, and are generally used for towing small trailers carrying a motorcycle, snowmobile, ATV, personal watercraft, small 'pop-up' camper or small 'U-Haul' style trailer. Class I hitches have a 1-1/4" square receiver opening and attach to the vehicle's bumper, truck pan or frame.
Each Rigid Hitch Class I Hitch comes complete with the correct ball mount, pin, clip and installation hardware required. Hitch balls are sold separately. Each component has its own weight capacity rating. Never tow more than the lowest capacity for any of these components. Always consult your owner's manual to determine your vehicle's maximum towing capacity.
